Entirely painted by hand using reactive glazes and fires 3 times. First firing is called the bisque firing, next the vase is poured by hand with the inside glaze which will ensure it is watertight. The background glaze is then added and then the design is free hand painted all around the vase. It now goes into the kiln for the second firing. To add a little more detail we now use enamels lustre and gold detail and the vase has its final firing 3 in total. Lots of work and many years of experience are needed to achieve our pieces of art pottery. Modern antiques or Antiques of the future.
